Philadelphia Police Academy to Study Brave Hearts
The Philadelphia Police Department has joined a growing number of law enforcement agencies across the country who have decided to incorporate the book, Brave Hearts: Extraordinary Stories of Pride, Pain and Courage written by American Police Beat Publisher Cynthia Brown, into the curriculum at their Academy.
Charles Ramsey, the Commissioner of the Philadelphia P.D., said that after a thorough review by his command staff, his agency made the decision to use the book as a teaching tool for their recruits.
“Cynthia has prepared detailed and thought provoking questions for each of the 14 chapters,” Ramsey said. “And we know this book will provoke discussion and enlighten our recruits about the complex, important, and challenging job they have taken on.”
